This is a unique new service which aims to send time-critical information to people on their mobile phones or via email.
The messages can be broadcast to people within 100 metres or up to 200 km from the point of incident depending upon the severity of the alert.
This service will help to protect our families and build stronger and safer communities throughout the UK.
